Schiavone and Zbyszko talked about the fact that LCW Chairman of the Board Christian Calaway was not intendance for this event, his favorite international event of the year and an event that, in the past, he always had a personal hand in organizing. Schiavone noted that Calaway hadn’t been seen since he was arrested, and subsequently released, during an investigation for insider trading. Schiavone and Zbyszko discussed the main event: a ten-man tag team elimination match featuring LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA teaming with the Yakuza Mafia (The Great Muta, Masahiro Chono, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and Kensuke Sasaki) taking on the Disciples of Allah (The Iron Sheik, Abdullah the Butcher, Ken Patera, and the Bolsheviks).

LCW United States Tag Team Champions The Powers of Pain (with Mr. Fuji) defeated Terry Funk and Big Van Vader in 7:21 by pinfall when The Barbarian pinned Terry Funk after the diving headbutt. During the match, the referee was knocked out when Vader collided into him as he was attempting to hit the Barbarian. Barbarian clotheslined Vader over the top rope and the two men brawled outside the ring. Barbarian gained the upper hand after Fuji threw some powder in Vader’s eyes and hit him with his cane as Barbarian held Vader in place. Meanwhile, in the ring, Funk focused his attention on the Warlord and managed to gain the upper hand. The Raging Bull Manny Fernandez came out with a steel chair and, as Funk climbed to the top rope, got in the ring. Funk leapt from the top rope and in the middle of the moonsault, Fernandez blasted Funk with the steel chair in the mid-section in mid-air. As Funk writhed in pain in the ring, Fernandez drew Barbarian’s attention to a vulnerable Funk and Barbarian hit Funk with the diving headbutt for the pinfall and the win.

In the parking lot, the Yakuza Mafia were shown arriving at the arena with LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA.

In the back, Bill Mercer was interviewing LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham and his manager Sir Oliver Humperdink about Graham’s upcoming match with Kevin Sullivan when Sullivan appeared with his valet Luna Vachon and suggested to Graham that they make their match a hardcore match. Graham accepted the challenge and suggested they not wait to start the match and attacked Sullivan to start the match. The two men started brawling in the back and continued brawling as they made their way to the arena. At one point, early during their brawling, Graham attempted to pin Sullivan in the back after throwing him into a wall, but there was no referee to make the pinfall. A referee ran to them and went to make the count, but Sullivan was able to kick out and the two men continued brawling on their way to the ring. Once they made it to the entrance stage, the referee called for the bell from the entrance stage to officially start the match.

Kevin Sullivan (with Luna Vachon) defeated LCW Heritage Champion Superstar Billy Graham (with Sir Oliver Humperdink) in 9:56 by pinfall after the double stomp onto a steel chair in a hardcore match to win the LCW Heritage Championship. After the match, Graham had to be taken from ringside on a stretcher.

In the back, Bill Mercer interviewed The Raging Bull Manny Fernandez about attacking Terry Funk earlier in the evening and Fernandez said, “Funker, if you think this thing between us is over, think again, daddy, because it’s far from over between us.” Funk appeared and started brawling with Fernandez as security officials arrived and tried to separate them.

In the back, Sean Mooney interviewed the Horsemen: Ric Flair, LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard, with valet Baby Doll, and Barry Windham, with manager J.J. Dillon. Flair said tonight was going to be a defining moment for the Horsemen because tonight Windham was going to beat Page, Blanchard was going to retain his title against Don Muraco, and Flair was going to beat Paul Orndorff. Flair warned Tatsumi Fujinami, who would be in Orndorff’s corner, to stay out of his business because tonight belonged to the Horsemen.

Barry Windham (with J.J. Dillon) defeated Diamond Dallas Page in 13:22 by pinfall after pushing Page away during an attempted Diamond Cutter and then hitting Page with the running clothesline.

In the back, Bill Mercer interviewed Dr. Death Steve Williams and his manager Cowboy Bill Watts about Williams upcoming match with LCW Television Champion. Watts said that Beefcake had been running his mouth for weeks and was asking for bigger and better competition than he was getting from Austin Idol and Hollywood John Tatum. Watts warned that maybe in the future Beefcake would be careful what he wished for, but said it didn’t matter because tonight Williams was going to silence Beefcake once and for all.

LCW Television Champion Brutus The Barber Beefcake defeated Dr. Death Steve Williams (with Cowboy Bill Watts) in 7:34 by pinfall with a rollup after a high kneelift to the back which sent Williams head first into a steel chair that Watts was holding to give to Williams. After the match, an angry Williams stalked Watts to the back as Watts tried to apologize. Moments later, as Beefcake celebrated his win over Williams, Hollywood John Tatum, with manager Missy Hyatt, and Austin Idol came out and attacked Beefcake. Wildfire Tommy Rich came out and got in the ring, but stopped and just watched for a moment before pushing Idol and Tatum away. Rich then kicked Beefcake in the head and walked out with Idol, Tatum, and Hyatt.

In the back, Bill Mercer interviewed Wildfire Tommy Rich, Austin Idol, Hollywood John Tatum, and Missy Hyatt. Hyatt said that everyone had just been a witness to history in the making Rich, Idol and Tatum had joined forces and were poised to take over Legends Championship Wrestling. She said she knew everyone was scared to invest in the stock market, but she had a hot tip and told everyone to start investing again and put their money in Hyatt International. Rich said, “Beefcake said when he was done with Idol and Tatum, he was going on to bigger and better things. I’ll admit that Williams is bigger and better, but not as big and bad as what’s been assembled before you. Beefcake didn’t think I was worth a title shot? He didn’t think the man that saved him from Idol and Tatum’s attacks every week was worthy of a friendly title shot. He didn’t want to be a man and offer me a title shot. Well, that’s fine. That’s all right because I’ll just take what I want and what I want now is the LCW Television Championship.” Rich walked away with Idol, Tatum and Hyatt.

In the back, Paul Orndorff was shown making his way through the arena corridor with Tatsumi Fujinami who would be in Orndorff’s corner for his match with Ric Flair.

Paul Orndorff (with Tatsumi Fujinami) defeated Ric Flair (with J.J. Dillon) in 15:30 by pinfall after reversing an attempted figure four leglock from Flair into a small package. During the match, the referee was knocked out and Dillon tried to interfere, but Fujinami hit Dillon with the dragon screw legwhip. Dillon rolled out of the ring, but Fujinami wasn’t done and hit him with the Dragon Rocket outside the ring. The match continued. After the match, an irate Flair tried to attack Orndorff, but Fujinami grabbed Flair and hit him with the Dragon Suplex and Flair rolled out of the ring and left ringside with Dillon.

In the back, Bill Mercer interviewed Cowboy Bill Watts about Dr. Death Steve Williams. Watts said Williams left without him and didn’t say anything when they got to the back. Watts said it didn’t matter because he had something to say to Williams. Watts said, “After all I’ve done for that son of a bitch over the years. After all I’ve given him, after all I’ve done for that ungrateful son of a bitch. I make one mistake and he stalks me to the back like I’m a scalded dog. Well, forget Dr. Death. I’m on to bigger and better things. I’m on to the WWE. I’m going into the Hall of Fame. I don’t need Dr. Death Steve Williams. I’m out of here!” Watts walked away.

LCW International Champion Tully Blanchard (with Baby Doll) defeated Don Muraco (with Sir Oliver Humperdink) in 12:04 by pinfall with a rollup while holding Muraco’s trunks for added leverage.

In the back, Bill Mercer interviewed LCW United States Champion Tito Santana about his title defense against Greg The Hammer Valentine. Mercer asked Santana if he was worried about the possibility of Rick Martel interfering in the match and Santana said if Martel did interfere he would handle him just like he was going to handle Valentine tonight. Santana said when he was done with Valentine he was setting his sights on Martel.

LCW United States Champion Tito Santana defeated Greg The Hammer Valentine (with Jimmy Hart) in 7:32 by pinfall after the flying forearm smash. During the match, Rick Martel interfered and was going to hit Santana with the title belt, but Santana hit him with the flying forearm smash, knocking him out of the ring. Santana then hit Valentine with a flying forearm smash for the pinfall and the win. After the match, Martel got in the ring and attacked Santana from behind and managed to gain the upper hand and put him in the Boston Crab until security officials came out and pulled Martel off of Santana.

In the back, Bill Mercer interviewed LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys about their title defense against the Great Kabuki and Kendo Nagasaki. The Nasty Boys said they knew Mr. Fuji was gunning for them and looking to make himself a hometown hero by securing the LCW World Tag Team Championships for Kabuki and Nagasaki, but they said that just wasn’t going to happen.

LCW World Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys defeated Great Kabuki and Kendo Nagasaki (with Mr. Fuji) in 6:08 by pinfall when Knobbs pinned Nagasaki after the running powerslam.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed footage of the highlights of the feud between the Disciples of Allah and LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA and the Yakuza Mafia.

LCW Universal Champion Magnum TA, The Great Muta, Masahiro Chono, Kensuke Sasaki, and Hiroyoshi Tenzan (with Genichiro Tenryu) defeated The Iron Sheik, Abdullah the Butcher, Nikolai Volkoff, Boris Zhukov, and Ken Patera (with General Skandor Akbar and Sheik Adnan Al-Kassie) in 20:14 in a ten-man tag team elimination match. Magnum TA and the Great Muta were the survivors.
Order of Elimination:
- Ken Patera was eliminated by Magnum TA at 4:22 by pinfall after the belly-to-belly suplex.
- Boris Zhukov was eliminated by Masahiro Chono at 7:15 by pinfall after the Yakuza Kick.
- Hiroyoshi Tenzan was eliminated by Abdullah the Butcher at 9:02 by pinfall after the Sudanese Meat Cleaver.
- Nikolai Volkoff was eliminated by The Great Muta at 13:22 by pinfall after the Shining Wizard.
- Kensuke Sasaki was eliminated by the Iron Sheik at 15:31 by pinfall after Abdullah the Butcher hit Sasaki with the Sudanese Meat Cleaver.
- Masahiro Chono and Abdullah the Butcher were both eliminated at 18:09 after both men were counted out while brawling outside the ring.
- The Iron Sheik was eliminated by Magnum TA at 20:14 by pinfall after the belly-to-belly suplex after Muta hit Sheik with the handspring back elbow. After the pinfall, Magnum tried to celebrate with Muta, but Muta seemed confused. Suddenly, Muta attacked Magnum, spitting red mist in his eyes and then hitting him with the Shining Wizard before leaving the ring. After Muta left the ring, from the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko reviewed footage of the end of the match and Magnum could be seeing tagging himself into the match as Muta was in the corner positioning himself to hit Sheik with the handspring elbow in the far corner. Magnum got in the ring as Muta was hitting the handspring elbow and hit Sheik with the belly-to-belly suplex immediately after the handspring elbow for the pinfall and the win. Zbyszko suggested that maybe Muta was offended that Magnum had tagged into the match and made the pinfall when Muta had control of the match. Schiavone said he didn’t know if that was the case, but suggested that maybe we’d get some answers on LCW Showdown this week and invited everyone to check out LCW Showdown on Wednesday. He thanked everyone for joining them for LCW Descent as the show went off the air.

LCW Descent 2008 Pay-Per-View Results 02.24.08

LCW Descent 2008 Pay-Per-View Results (February 24, 2008) live from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.

From the broadcast booth, Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcomed everyone to LCW Descent 2008, live from the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan as Jet Leg Gemini’s “Run This City” played and fireworks exploded in the background. Ring announcer Gary Michael Capetta introduced both men who made their way to ringside and took their seats in the front row.

The Wild Samoans defeated Tony Atlas and Rocky Johnson (with Slick) in 5:48 by pinfall when Afa pinned Rocky Johnson after the Samoan Drop in a match to determine the number one contenders for the LCW World Tag Team Championships. After the match, as the Wild Samoans were leaving the ring, Tony Atlas and Slick berated Rocky Johnson. Atlas was leaving the ring, but Slick slapped Johnson and said he was out of the Brothahood. Johnson grabbed Slick and was going to hit him, but Atlas returned to the ring and attacked Johnson, savagely assaulting him. Atlas dragged Johnson to the corner and told Slick to hold his arm in place as he went outside the ring and grabbed a steel chair. Atlas then blasted Johnson’s arm with the steel chair causing Johnson to scream in pain. The Wild Samoans came back down to ringside and chased Atlas and Slick to the back as medical officials checked on Johnson, who had to be taken from ringside on a stretcher.

In the back, LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin was shown arriving to the arena in the parking lot for his main event match against Big Van Vader.

Madusa Micelli defeated LCW Women's Champion Luna Vachon (with Kevin Sullivan) in 5:08 by pinfall with a German suplex into a bridge to win the LCW Women’s Championship. During the match, Kevin Sullivan tried to interfere, but LCW International Champion Superstar Billy Graham came to ringside and clotheslined Kevin Sullivan over the top rope and out of the ring. As Graham and Sullivan brawled up the entrance ramp, Madusa kicked Vachon in the head and then pinned her with a German suplex into a bridge.

In the parking lot, Big Van Vader arrived to the arena, with his manager Harley Race, for his match event match against LCW Universal Champion Stone Cold Steve Austin.
